T.J. Meagher is in his second year as Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance and Special Projects. Meagher budgets and applies $5 million worth of athletics financial aid while overseeing the organization of records for over 400 student-athletes. He also collaborates with the Athletics Business Office and Deputy Athletics Director on fiscal analyses pertaining to budget tracking and projection.In addition, Meagher serves as the administrative liaison to the UH volleyball program. Prior to being promoted to his current position, Meagher served as Compliance Coordinator at UH from 2002-2006. His primary responsibilities were overseeing student-athlete records and applying athletics financial aid. He also developed and conducted the NCAA Rules Education Program for the athletics department and university. Furthermore, he administered the distribution and reconciliation of the NCAA Student-Athlete Opportunity Fund and Conference USA Special Assistance Fund. Meagher joined the compliance staff after holding the dual title of Athletics Ticket Office Coordinator and Merchandise Manager from 200002. He came to Houston after seven years of collegiate volleyball. Meagher was the Head Women¹s Volleyball Coach at Campbell University from 1998-00, after serving as an assistant coach at Ole Miss from 1995-98. He began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Kentucky in 1993. In June 2006, Meagher was named Legislative Representative to Board of Directors for the American Volleyball Coaches Association. A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Meagher earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1992 from the University of Kentucky, and two years later he earned his Master of Business Administration at Morehead State University. Meagher and his wife, Gentine, have a daughter, Evie. |
