2002 SEASON
Recorded a 2-1 record with one save and added a 2.86 ERA... Led team and would have ranked among national leaders with 13.3 strikeouts per game with only a few more innings pitched... Struck out the side in his first collegiate outing against Texas at the Astros College Classic… Continued solid performance out of the bullpen at the Astros College Classic by tossing 1.2 innings of one-hit, shutout relief against Texas A&M... Struck out four batters in the sixth inning during game two of the LSU series... Teamed with Austin Faught and Danny Zell to tie the school team and C-USA team record with 19 strikeouts... Retired four of the five batters he faced in strikeouts against Rice in the Silver Glove Series finale... Struck out six in 3.1 innings of relief against Cincinnati in the middle game of that series... Struck out a career-best eight of the 10 batters he faced in three innings of relief against Texas-San Antonio… Collected his first collegiate save against the Roadrunners... Set a new career high with seven strikeouts in five innings of relief against South Florida in the middle game of that series... Earned his first collegiate win against Tulane to help lead the Cougars into the C-USA Tournament championship game... Scattered only three hits with five strikeouts in 4.2 innings against the Green Wave... Earned the win against Arizona State in the championship game of the NCAA Regional at Mesa… Scattered three hits and one run in 4.2 innings of relief against the Sun Devils.

HIGH SCHOOL
A standout pitcher at Yoakum High School, struck out 19 in a seven-inning game and threw four no-hitters in his career… Two-time MVP of district 29-3A… Selected First-Team All-Area and First-Team All-State in 2001… Helped lead Yoakum HS to the 3A State Finals… Was also named First-Team All-District in football and basketball...
