HOUSTON - The University of Houston women's basketball team, already in possession of a first-round bye in the Conference USA Women's Basketball Championship, closes out the regular season Saturday against Marshall at 1 p.m. CST on Guy V. Lewis Court at Hofheinz Pavilion.
Houston (15-14, 9-6 C-USA) snapped a five-game losing streak with a 72-69 win over East Carolina Thursday.
The Marshall game will serve as senior day as Houston will recognize the contributions of its five-member senior class. Tye Jackson, Whitney James, McIntyre, Ryan Meyers and Alona Obaze will be honored on a pregame ceremony.
Tickets will be priced at $1 for all arena seats as part of the 'Pack The House' promotion. The Cougars will sign autographs on the concourse following the conclusion of Saturday's game.

- Houston (15-14, 9-6 C-USA) snapped a five-game losing streak and earned a first-round bye in the C-USA Championship with its 72-69 win over East Carolina Thursday.

- McIntyre ranks fourth in C-USA in scoring and leads the league in three-pointers made per game (2.32). She earned C-USA POTW honors on Jan. 7 and Jan. 21.
- Jackson has averaged 5.9 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game in C-USA games. She was named C-USA POTW on Feb. 4 after averaging nearly a triple-double against Memphis and UAB.
- Jackson tallied the fourth triple-double in Conference USA and Cougar history with 11 points, a career-best 16 rebounds and 12 assists in an 80-76 overtime win at UAB.
- Taylor has averaged almost a double-double in C-USA play (10.8/9.9).
Houston head coach Joe Curl, who suffered a heart attack on Oct. 27, has been cleared to return to recruiting duties. No timetable has been set for his return to coaching.
- With its win over East Carolina (02/28), UH has locked up a top-four seeding in the 2008 C-USA Championship.
- The Cougars will be either the No. 3 or No. 4 seed.
- With a win over Marshall and a UAB loss to Southern Miss, UH would be the No. 3 seed.
- If UAB defeats Southern Miss, Houston would earn the four slot.
- Houston is 2-2 all-time as the No. 3 seed in league championship action, but UH has never been slotted as No. 4.
- This is UH's fifth first-round bye since joining C-USA during the 1996-97 season.
- The Cougars also earned byes in 2001 (No. 3), 2002 (No. 2), 2004 (No. 1) and 2005 (No. 3).
