Cougar Tennis Returns To The Road In Trip To Louisville
March 21, 2008
HOUSTON, Texas - With less than a month left before playing host to the Conference USA Women's Tennis Championships in April, the University of Houston returns to the hard courts this weekend, traveling to the state of Kentucky to face Louisville on Saturday, March 22, and #58 South Alabama on Sunday, March 23. Both matches will take place at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Louisville. The Cougars, 10-7 on the season, is 4-1 lifetime against the Cardinals, who enter tomorrow's match with an impressive 11-4 mark. The Cougars and Cardinals last squared off in 2004, when Houston knocked off Louisville, 4-2, to capture third place at the C-USA Championships held at Louisville. Sunday's clash with the Jaguars marks just the fifth time the two schools have matched up on the tennis courts, and the Cougars hold a 3-1 advantage in the head-to-head series. The two last faced one another back on March 16, 1992, when the Cougars won 5-4 on the John E. Hoff Courts. The Cougars are coming off a hard-fought 4-3 win over Samford this past Sunday. ---www.UHCougars.com---
