Born April 3, 1981, in Rockdale...her parents are Miller and Kathie Bassler of Rockdale…older brother, Brooks, is a senior on this year’s team and a former Conference USA high jump champion…younger brother, Blade, is a football player at UH...father, Miller, was a tight end and wide receiver for Houston’s football team in 1970-74, and played with the Pittsburgh Steelers... uncle, Kent Nicar, was drafted as a pitcher out of high school...hobbies are reading and dancing…majoring in communications and hopes to attend law school upon graduation.
